bobbozzo Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Hi, I too am having very high CPU usage, with build 25137 on WinXP SP3, 32bit btw.I currently am only seeding.Setting net.lowcpu isn't really helping.I've also lowered the priority of uTorrent in TaskManager, and 'set affinity' to only use 1 CPU (out of 2).Even still, playback of music or videos is unusable as the stuttering is terrible. In the last 15 hours, uT has used 4.5hours of CPU time.uTorrent 2.x was perfect.I want to keep using v3 for the web interface/mobile app, but if I can't play media, or stream to another computer, it's a no go.Thanks,Bob
bobbozzo Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I found my SATA drive was running at SATA 1 instead of SATA 2; changing that seemed to help a little, but with the latest alphas (now on 25171), things are worse. It's got 1 CPU pegged more that 50% of the time. Thanks,Bob
TomP Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Sorry, initially posted this as a report on another comment above.Since auto-updating, I too am suffering slow CPU, often started by simply starting up a new download, which can only be fixed by closing uTorrent process in Task Manager. Also get occasional severe effects on PC audio, high background buzz or audio skips, usually fixed by closing utorrent and Internet Explorer. What should I do? Downgrade or is there an imminent fix?Thanks...TomP
bobbozzo Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 More info:1. disabling P2P scan in Avast AV really helps. However, I was using the same Avast with uTorrent 2 and it was not nearly this severe2. CPU usage is 10-15% higher when uTorrent is not minimized. ISTM that the UI needs significant optimization and/or less refresh. Thanks,Bob
