Uploading 12 times faster than D/Ling

Hi, im new to this again, I used u/bitorrent a while ago. Now my daughters has been using it for all her teen tv shows:rolleyes:. But ive noticed as soon as she D/Ls she moves the file, so she aint seeding back much, if any. Ive explained to her to leave it there for a day to share the file.

Anyway, im wondering if this has caused this:

Downloading a lrge (5GB) file, my current rate is D/L-12kB/s...U/L-92kB/s, seeds:10(2613)...peers:28(8322)

I,ve reduced the settings after hours of troubleshooting last night:

My max upload rate is 70

80 global connections

40 peers per torrent

3 slots per torrent

speed test:

Up:838.85kbit/s(102)kB/s

down:8.72Mbit/s(1.0MB/s)

In the setup guide i manually set it to 532kbit/s

Any suggestions as to why I cant connect or dowload to the apparent thousands of seeds/peers available.

How many torrents active at once?

Your disproportionate connection (10x download vs upload) may not be helping matters, but if your limits are set wrong, you will get this behavior.

10x DL vs UL? sorry can you explain what you mean.do you mean the speeds im getting:UP vs Down?

Ive read the faq, the setup guide, Im trying to get my head around it.

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 <-- this guide is the main one you should be following. the only thing you might need to do differently is to apply the rate limit for uTP connections.

i just tried slackware, DL went up to 6-700kB/s,

so it must be the torrent,

just gotta search for how to get around that.
