drunk1 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Hi, Been using torrents for years and would like to think I know my way about them. All of a sudden my uTorrent will not download over 30kb/s. There is no NAT problem, all green, incoming legacy connections ticked, forced/enabled, port forwarded properly, uPnP checked, NAT-PMP checked, and my torrents have plenty of seeds. I even tried to download a file on a dedicated server to max my connection but still 30kb/s max. I dunno what to do next, getting quite frustrated! Anybody help?Oh and my net connection is 7mb doownload, usually average 750kb/s to 800kb/s on a torrent. Cheers.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Speedtest results image from speedtest.net please (no torrents running).
DreadWingKnight Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I would honestly suspect your internet provider right now, given that the problem happens with multiple clients.
drunk1 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 So just hang in there and see if it fixes itself?
drunk1 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 Well you were right. I tried bittorrent & azureus and the problem still persisted. Returned to uTorrent and was getting quite pissed off, without getting too much into it I called BT and actually spoke to somebody who knew what they were on about and opened all ports up for me and had to fiddle about with the router settings, turning DMZ on and providing her with the MAC address for the PC and it all seemed to work right away! So to be fair to BT, it took 15 minutes tops on the phone and I'm back downloading like a happy chappy!
kyl31 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yeah me too. I get slow speeds too. I am using regular dsl and I use to get about the max 300kb/s but now I only get to 80kb/s max for downloading torrents. I tried everything but don't know what the freakin' problem is. ??? Anyone??? Please???
