boozer Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Hello there, I upgraded my utorrent to the latest version 2.2.1 on Friday and it has not been working eversince. I never have any problem with any utorrent at all as I have been using it for the last 3 years and it has been good so far until now. I tried everything on the forum here and still a no go therefore I decided to post it here. My torrent files are all red. I re-check and still red. I unistalled utorrent then restart computer and reinstall utorrent again, and redownload from website again, still not working. I went into my router and did port forwarding and still not working. The message is "An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions." I even did the firewall in both the windows and norton and still not working. I really need some help here on how to get my utorrent working again. Please advise. Thank you very much.

I am beginning to suspect that comcast might be blocking my torrent as I tried bitcomet, bittorrent and vuze and all the same. I wonder if there is a way to bypass comcast now.

boozer Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 Hi DreadWingKnight, Thank you very much for your efforts and advices. I finally managed to get utorrent to work again. The main problem was the Norton thing. It seems like I did not fully uninstall it. I had to get Norton Removal, then restart the pc and reinstall utorrent. Finally it is working again and I can get the books (pdf) for my sister. Thank you so much. Have a great day.
