Disable System Tray

It used to be configurable to show utorrent in System Tray or not. Unfortunately I have automatic updates and seems that this setting is lost. As a result i have disabled automatic updates. Please refrain from breaking GUI between updates :mad:

I always use utorrent as a regular application. Minimize/maximize from task bar and startup on boot. Since the last update, it seems that I also get a system tray icon, which I don't want. This is useful real estate and i don't like programs taking up space in there without permission. HIDE won't do what I want .

How can I disable just the system Tray icon?

UI Setttings>System Tray>(Uncheck) Always show tray icon.

Just hide it with Windows. Right click -> Customize notification options.

The option was disabled due to bugs, but it is fixed in 3.0.

Nope, unfortunately it won't do anything in utorrent 2.2.1

Can't do it in Windows XP. However, I would love to download 64bit 3.0 Is it stable? Any URL for it?

You can hide icons in XP too, it's just a slightly different process. I forget it though, just check the properties of the taskbar or something.

And I would not recommend the 64-bit 3.0, but you can find the 32-bit edition in the Announcements forum.

You cannot do it in 2.2.1, as mentioned, it is buggy. You have either to upgrade to 3.0 (beta) or downgrade to 2.0.4.
