herloncl
This is the msg i am getting when I start to download....An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. I have uninstalled and re-installed utorrent. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem, but I also updated divx codec. I have now downloaded bittorrent so I can still download. I may not be speaking the correct language, or jargon, here....I am not a computer whiz but I can figure this out.....I just need help....Please someone help!!! 3Phase
This is the msg i am getting when I start to download....An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.Herloncl, it's a permission problem, not a codec problem. I've seen similar errors with other software and previous versions of uTorrent/Bittorrent [Mainline] when they're run in a restricted User account. If it is a permission error then there should be no error message in the logging tab if you if start and run uTorrent with administrator/root permissions but that is really not a solution .... Unless it is actually making the program crash or malfunction you can hide the error by disabling/unchecking the option in the logging tab: Error Logging --> Log misc errorsFor me, the socket error shows up in the logging tab when I start uTorrent:[CurrentDate Time] ICMP port bind failed [my.ip.add.ress:port#]: (10013) An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. [CurrentDate Time] Loaded ipfilter.dat (####### entries)This time around: uTorrent v2.2.1 build 25130; XP Pro SP3; no 3rd-party security software installed; with or without XP firewall enabled makes no difference:Regards,Scott
