token
DreadWingKnight, I'm not sure why you closed my previous post (http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=97734) as I answered your question. The tracker window ONLY contains the following:Name Status Update In Seeds Peers Downloaded [DHT] waiting for announce... 0 0 0 [Local Peer Discovery] working 0 1 0 [Peer Exchange] working 0 0 0 There's nothing else there, that's all that's in there. token
DreadWingKnight, thanks for your help, the torrents that didn't work before are working now. That link pointed me in the right direction, however I had to do some additional work not specified in that link to fix my problem of some torrents not connecting/downloading. Here's the steps recommended in that link and my comments:1. UDP Traffic needs to be allowed in firewalls for DHT to function.COMMENT: My firewall settings were correct.2. PeerGuardian needs a smarter blocklist selected. Several of the blocklists generated by Bluetack block the DHT bootstrap nodes used by uTorrent.COMMENT: I don't run PeerGuardian. I also tried disabling ipfilter in uTorrent, that didn't fix my problem.3. IF DHT has worked in the past, try torrents from OpenOffice or Depthstrike Entertainment's Open Source and Freeware trackerCOMMENT: I'm not sure if DHT ever worked for me. With uTorrent, the status for DHT was always inactive, not allowed, or waiting for announce. BTW I tried the .torrent from OpenOffice and downloading DID work, however DHT still wasn't logging in. My specific problem was downloading from torrent files were DHT was seemingly a required connection as for those torrents, they still didn't connect to any trackers or download.4. Shut down uTorrent, remove the dht.dat and dht.dat.old files from %appdata%\utorrent and restart uT, then retry.COMMENT: I did this but the torrents causing me problems still didn't work. However this gave me the idea to reset ALL the settings with uTorrent. I deleted settings.dat and settings.dat.old from %appdata%\utorrent. After restarting uTorrent and opening my problem torrent files, they all started connect to peers then download! Woohoo! DHT status now says working so that fixed whatever was causing DHT problems in uTorrent. I went into the menus and changed the settings to my previous uTorrent settings and restarted uTorrent and those problem torrents still work so I'm not sure what happened. So for anyone who runs into this issue or any other weird behavior with uTorrent especially after updating, it would be good idea to clear out your settings.dat.* in addition to the dht.dat.* files as part of your troubleshooting checklist.
