"Error: invalid download state, try resuming" message

This has been happening for a while with my uTorrent. It's already updated with the latest release, but it doesn't stop showing up at everything I download. I can resume the download again, but it's really annoying, especially because the speed goes down all over again and I have to do that several times.

The program is already an exception to Avast's P2P scanning, but I suspect the problem is actually Avast, because when I disabled it for 10 minutes the error didn't happen. I deleted the old settings through that 'Run' command, but it didn't work.

Uploading or downloading, it always appears at some point. I haven't changed the names of the files I was downloading, nor deleted them. How do I get this to stop? Nothing works.
