guys pls help me i get sick of everytime i try to donwload something, i have to restart my computer lots of times..it always crashes when downloading..anyone have any help?:/

Avast hooking in may be causing the problem.

The other possibility is hotspot shield.

i installed hotspot shield 1 week ago but my utorrent freezes for 3-4 months and i also tried to disable avast but it still freezes:/

Is it a new pc or an old 1? It might be a hardware fault like cooling etc... I'd suggest you try using cpu-z to monitor the cpu / chipset temp...

Did you get some BSODs when µT was downloading?

If yes, check the folder %SystemRoot%\Minidump and open the recent ones with BlueScreenView v1.32.

Save the log as .txt and copy/paste the log here.

In addition, be sure the drivers are up-to-date (like network card).

It's a system variable, it works regardless of the OS version you get.

Make a search on the boards, solutions have been posted. You surely need to reduce the bandwidth use, disable UDP (µTP id est bandwidth management, DHT, PEX, IP resolution, UDP trackers etc).

Honestly there is no unique solution, especially with bad hardware or drivers.

utorrent is suddenly automatically starting upon computer start up. This doesn't give me a chance to start peerblock or btguard which makes me nervous. I have searched my preferences to see where I can change this, and also searched the posts and FAQ's but can't find anything on it. Hoping you can help.
