JimB
My torrent client page is completely blank, all the ongoing traffic has disappeared. The folders are still there (on E drive=other partition) and when I look in the preferences of the client, the paths are still correct. Here's what happened. My torrent tracker files are associated with my Utorrent client. This means that when I double-click a downloaded tracker file it gets loaded among the list of other torrents and starts downloading after having clicked OK on the appropriate tab in the tracker file window. I can of course also drag/drop a tracker file into the open window of the client. However up until now I only did this while my Utorrent client was running. I never double clicked a torrent tracker file with my client closed and not running be it even in the BG.This time by accident I did double-clicked a tracker file and my Utorrent client opened with a complete blank window. The whole list with ongoing operations was vanished and remains vanished when I close an reopen my client. If I now doubleclick a torrent it starts the normal download completely on it's own. What is happening here. I repeat that the folders are still in place and the links are still correct when I look under preferences and the destination paths.I have a BU of my C drive available of 2 days ago and while the folders for the completed, uncompleted, and trackers are still on my E drive, I could eventually restore some folders or files from my C drive if some got corrupted and resulted in the blank window/page.I would of course appreciate any help. JimB
Screenshot of an empty window ?Here you go, this is how it looks like, after the client opened and after I doubleclicked on a torrent tracker while the client was closed. I removed the torrent c'se I won't mess and download something while all the other things have gone (some 30 torrents where present b4 but only some 5 active if I recall)http://www.imagebam.com/image/35f341131898539

DreadWingKnight
Click on the "Torrents" category on the left and leave it there. Also, 2.2.1 is fully out and on auto-update.start - run - %appdata%\utorrent and delete the resume.dat and .dat.old files. JimB
OK, I deleted those files. The window is still empty. How can I get my torrent activity back
DreadWingKnight
http://user.utorrent.com/documentation/migrateGet the .torrents again (from wherever you have/got them) and follow the migration guide.
JimB
You mean the trackers ? That's a problem. There were many DL's going on and allthough I have backups of many trackers in a special folder (specified in Preferences), I can't exactly recall which or which version ofthe tracker. As I said I made a BU of my C drive some 3 days ago and could put back some files but do I understand correct that I still have to go trough this migration guide instead of just (for example) replacing the whole utorrent folder in APPDATA from the one from my BU ? Is the client storing files in a third (secret) folder somewhere in my PC ? I mean aside from the utorrent folder in Program Files and the one under AppData. I'm just trying to understand this a bit. Sorry for the inconvenience
DreadWingKnight
You mean the trackers ?No the torrents. You've got your terms mixed up.
JimB
True I did mean the *.torrent files. But what about the other part of my post ? Is migration the only solution ? Weird how this works with hidden files somewhere on the PC, files that are not available in a BU.
DreadWingKnight
With the way pathnames are, you may not be able to use the old backup. If any of your files are no longer in the same location, your entry for those files in the backup is no longer valid.
