jcw1407 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 When downloading, I only ever connect to one seed at most - even though there may be hundreds of seeds, in fact most of the time it doesn't connect to any seeds. I have no problem connecting to peers and I get respectable download speeds - the real problem is abvailability is low and I can sometimes take days to get a torrent. I also have no problem seeding.I have checked all my connection settings, when I test the link it reports the port is open, I ahve tried different combinations of encryption, all to no avail.I am using uTorrent 2.2.1 (build 25130) on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bitMy router is a DLink DSL-2730B Any help would be appreciated.ThanksJames
DreadWingKnight Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Not much you can do with low availability and not being able to connect to the few seeds that are present on the torrent.
jcw1407 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Posted May 22, 2011 The torrent I am downloading now has 60 seeds - but I only ever connect to 1 - the majority of the time it connects to none. When I'm connected to a seed availability shoots up to numbers above 3, it's at 0.25 when I'm connecting to the peers. What prevents me from connecting to seeds?
DreadWingKnight Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Could be your routerCould be your internet security softwareCould be your internet providerhttp://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992
