owlfan12000 Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Given the demise of some large trackers I have a number of torrents with trackers that are no longer in service. Is there some way to remove the trackers from those without opening the properties of those trackers and deleting them individually? I generally like to keep them in my torrent file list so I can still use the labels but there is no point in uTorrent checking the trackers.
GTHK Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Multi select torrents with ctrl or shift + mouse, buuuuuuut if there's any difference in trackers it'll just overwrite them for all selected.
owlfan12000 Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 I'm afraid I'm missing something. I multi select the torrents then I go to the tracker tab in the detailed info page, right click and choose delete tracker. It only deletes one of the trackers. Is there another way I should be doing this?Another related question, is there some way to change a private torrent to public? The two trackers I'm removing, empornium and puretna, were private torrents so I can't enable DHT. If I understand it correctly DHT would allow me to find other trackers with the same torrent. Is that correct?
moogly Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 Nope, it doesn't work. You need to select each torrent job one by one and erase the trackers. If you change the private flag, the hash changes too. So the swarm of the 1st private torrent will not join the 2nd public torrent.DHT can be used only with public torrents.
owlfan12000 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Report Posted June 5, 2011 When I delete the old tracker the tracker still has the private flag. How can I change the private tag to public?
DreadWingKnight Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 while still being able to download from the original group of peers? you don't.
owlfan12000 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Report Posted June 5, 2011 In this case I don't care about being able to download from the original group because the trackers were closed months ago.
moogly Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Use http://torrenteditor.com/ to change the private flag, it will generate a new .torrent.
