Running a batch file - with a minimized window on download completion

Hi,

All my test for the above - resulted in either a maximixed cmd window, or a leftover open cmd shell/window.

What would be the command line in properties->advanced to run such a batch file minimized without opening any window that can disturb the user ?

this will do the trick.

cmd.exe /c start /min cmd.exe

if you want to get rid of the cmd blinking by, you can use something like this:

thanks. I tried it (see in my sig-guide - J. ) but it doesn't work. I always have one CMD Window - left open. I think it is the one opened for winrar

i dont know what you are really doing, but this works for me. if i where to get some more details on your project, perhaps i can come up with a better answere.

cmd.exe /c start /min IF EXIST "%D\*.r*" "d:\program files\winrar\winrar.exe" x -ibck "%D\*.r*" "%D"

^ this is exactly whay I am doing.

... if you run like this exampel you see it works.

cmd.exe /c start /min cmd.exe /c start notepad.exe

hey guys. I tried to get virus scanning to work minimized using this method you discuss, but I got an error saying something about couldn't find Scan blah blah. I just added the cmd.exe /c start /min at the start of what I had.

cmd.exe /c start /min "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\Antimalware\MPCMDRUN.EXE" -Scan -3 -"%D"

Can you help me fix it?
