JohnWebb
My first problem is:When a torrent is loaded into a file on your computer, why doesn't the file show how much of the torrent has been downloaded? It seems to show the file exactly the same whether only a little of the torrent has been downloaded, as when most of it has. Some software (eg: FixCleaner), when you run it to clean your computer, it deletes all of the torrents and settings for Utorrent! I don't know why. Some torrents which only have one seed, or peer, take so long to download, that you'd have to leave your ccomputer on for weeks. So when I turn my computer off, and run my 'Fixcleaner', I then have to reset my Utorrent. Thus, when I open Utorrent, I have to put in the torrents again. But Utorrent doesn't download these torrents where they have been half-loaded into - why not? I thought it automatically searched on your computer for the torrents it has half-downloaded.Apparently not! Instead, it starts off a new download file (which as I have mentioned is going to take weeks to download), and begins to download the same torrent from 0%.How can I get Utorrent to download into the same file? By-the-by, I am using Vista, which doesn't give you permission to do hardly anything with your files when they are in use.Can anyone advise... GTHK
Pointing it at the exact same location as last time and forcing a re-check should work, careful not to go a directory to deep. Me thinks you should toast "Fix"cleaner.
JohnWebb
I have been in touch with FileCleaner, and they have reset their software for me, so that my Utorrent is no longer affected by their 'clean up' software program. But, although I am putting a full directory name into the options/preferences settings, the Utorrent software keeps creating a replica file location, and putting the torrent in there, rather than the file that exists. I gave the directory address as: C:Users\John\Torrent Complete, and Utorrent has created two more folders of this exact name! Can anyone advise...
