Downloads don't start anymore when they were running fast just before

I was downloading a lot of torrents today. Had to close uTorrent for a moment because I had a call on Skype (maybe 10 minutes) after that the downloads don't start anymore. The strange thing is that one download is going at about 45 kB/s and one upload is also running. So there is a connection, and something is happening. But there were many more connections the first time utorrent was open, and they don't come back.

Another strange thing is that uTorrent will not minimize to the system tray (although it is set to do so in the preferences). When I click 'minimize' uTorrent just disappears, but I can still see it running as a process in the taskmanager.

Does anybody know what might be going on?
