RedSkywalker
First post to see if I can get an answer to this. I am using uTorrent 2.2.1 and as far as downloading goeas everything is fine but I'd like to be able to put back and can't because when it tries to it always comes back with file not found - even though it put the file in the directory and nothing has changed - so why can't it see them? moogly
Because you moved the complete file and µT is not able to find it and seed it. Move back the file into its original directory (or change the location folder by right clicking) and force a recheck.
RedSkywalker
Thanks but that isn't it because nothing has been moved or renamed! When I'm downloading I can also upload fine and as long as I stay connected even when I have finished downloading the uploads continue fine BUT if I close down and reboot later that's when it can't see the files even though nothing has changed
moogly
µT can't see the files after a reboot, but does the client display an error message? (torrent jobs with a red arrow)
RedSkywalker
Yes, that's it - the files are there in the same directories but uTorrent says files not found
RedSkywalker
Just closed and reopened uTorrent result was out of 10 streams it reported 8 "error - files missing from job - recheck" the 2 others are now seeding ok
moogly
When you have the error, are the files present in the download folder? Or µt is not able to see them even if the files are still here?
RedSkywalker
Yes they are all still there and what's more I can play them directly from uTorrent - nothing is missing, it can play the files but still insists they aren't there?
DreadWingKnight
Right-click the offending torrents and force a re-check then
RedSkywalker
Ok, they are all reporting 99.9% complete (but they all reported 100% downloaded and they play fine!) the files have now "stopped" after the re-check
moogly
Start the torrent jobs to finish the missing 0.1%.
RedSkywalker
Thanks guys (I'm quite new as you probably guessed) - did a "force re-start" and almost instantly the files started to seed - is this just a glitch in uTorrent?
DreadWingKnight
If you've skipped files or have media indexers that re-tag files (or if you've deleted files), it's to do with that.
