uTorrent 3.0 is a CPU hog

Task manager reports that uTorrent 3.0 (latest version to this point) uses an average 20% CPU (+/- 10%). That is huge, and the computer really slows down... even the browser doesn't take that much when it's rendering the page, with GPU acceleration on!

Keeping it turned on while working on the computer is counterproductive.

I'm using Windows 7, Nod32 version 4. My CPU is an Intel T4400 DualCore, at 2.2 GHz (I have an Acer Aspire 5732ZG).

I was using the browser as an example... couldn't find a very good comparison...

Yep, that is right... there is a LOT of file I/O, and uTorrent doesn't report it all... After it ran for few hours, these are the stats from task manager: READ: 70GB WRITE: 11GB. uTorrent only reported about 10% of that... why?

My laptop has been running all day, for about 10 hours. uTorrent only ran for few hours (2-3), after I exited, but the process didn't close... and I can't kill it, only with a reboot. uTorrent got 45 minutes of CPU time in 2-3 hours. "System" only got 37 minutes... The only process that has a higher cpu time is System Idle Process.

It uses a lot of CPU... on average 20-30%... that has a huge impact on the system, and combined with the high file I/O, the computer works like a Win98 machine running Win7... it slows down a lot, and Chrome constantly freezes... it's not the computer's fault, I have dual core 2.2 ghz processor, 4 gigs of ram, it's the software... without utorrent 3.0 running, the computer runs very smooth, but with it... horrible.

I guess I will downgrade to 2.2, I can't keep such a hog running... it's way too inefficient.
