rae7
So I think I might have messed up really badly. I was using my roommate's laptop (that uses Windows 7), and I saw she had a lot of completed Torrents needlessly seeding. So I deleted them, but I can't find the original file! I thought I was deleting the .torrent, but did I lose the main files??HELP!
moogly
Oh yeah, I know a roommate who isn't going to be happy! If you deleted the .torrent+data, the data (files) should be in the Windows trash. If not, they are completely deleted (or you need to use a file recovery software). But, if you removed just the torrent job, without trashing the data, they should be stored in the download storage folder (see Preferences > Directories). Did you run a search with Windows Explorer to find a filename?
rae7
I have no idea WHAT i deleted. I just know a file search comes up with nothing, and the recycling bin doesn't have the files either. I just went SELECT ALL and then the RED X button?Any good file recovery programs I should be looking at???
moogly
Right click on the red X button, what's the option selected by default?Recuva is a free data recovery program, you can try it. Next time, be careful by deleting torrents.
