Diesel13
Hi, I have dial-up, not because I'm cheap, because there is nothing else available in my area (up north),It's been a while that I messed around utorrent settings and googled tons of data to speed up utorrent, I had it working great but I had to reformat my pc (win 7 Ultimate 64 bits) and not my utorrent is slow as hell . . .1.3 to 1.5 kb/s, used to be between 3.6 to 4.3 kb/s I know it's slow but it's all I got.I tried bunch of settings, googled tons more and cannot get it better like it was . . .I tried many different versions and Am now at ( µTorrent 3.0 Beta 64 bits (build 25329) )Still nothing, even though I really like the new GUI it's still slowPlease help !Mike. Diesel13
Yes I have, and a few others too . . .Just tried uninstalling utorrent as last time I upgraded, cleaned all traces in Reg and AppData and Program Files and X86, rebooted, fresh install, did the settings as best as I can figure them out using the info provided in the posts and I can barely exceed 1 kb/s yikes . . . moogly
In fact, it's hard to use a p2p application with very slow internet connection, especially now with overseeded torrents and seedboxes.Try a torrent from LO http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.4.0/win/x86/LibO_3.4.0_Win_x86_install_multi.exe.torrent , what's the max DL speed you reach? (stop all the other active torrent jobs). And post screenshots of Preferences > Bandwidth & Queueing to http://imageshack.us/
Diesel13
ok, I downloaded a little part of the torrent you mentionned, max I got was 1.1 kB/s . . .would of taken over a week to download the 189 mb file.so I stopped it. Sorry for the late reply.here are the screen shots you requested. As I said, I use Win7 Ultimate (registered) 64bits, µTorrent 3.0 Beta 64 bits (build 25329), allowed in windows firewall and avast and comodo . . .Don't know what else to do. It's not because of my setup because there was no hardware or software change beside a reformat. I did have this problem before but I had found somewhere on the net a post that showed how to make changes in the advanced settings and it worked, was downloading between 3.6 to 4.5 kB/s I know it's slow for your standards but for me, it's one day instead of 3 days worth of download for a a file.Mike. DreadWingKnight
Try disabling bandwidth management [uTP]
Diesel13
Dude you rock . . . 4.3 kB/swow, so simple I guess when you look too deep, you don't see what is on the surface . . .Are you far from me ? I owe you a cold one (or a few for that matter) . . . I'm in Quebec (Canada) just on the border to Vermont . . .
DreadWingKnight
The reason it was slowing you down that much is that the latency thresholds for uTP were set for broadband connections.the two net.utp delay settings in advanced preferences would need to be adjusted (to 200 or higher most likely) if you want to use uTP.I'm 2 provinces east of you, no ferry.
