ShiroKen
Hi guys.I have utorrent already setup and downloading opensuse, I can reach 11.6MB/s pretty much no problem. The thing is though, is that it takes a while to get to that speed. I know the seeds and bandwidth is available, but utorrent seems to take its time connecting to peers, maybe 30-60 seconds. On big files it's not so bad but I often download files in the region of 250-450mb, and they are usually complete before I get up to top speed. Is there any way to speed this up?Thanks
DreadWingKnight
Not really, no. Sometimes you have to wait for the other end to connect to you because they can't accept incoming connections.
ShiroKen
Hmm ok, I can see that side of things. The opensuse torrent I use in particular for testing, always has way more seeds than leechers. I don't know much about utorrent, but I would have thought they were able and ready to accept my connection. Now looking in the advanced settings i see bt.connect_speed and net.max_halfopen. Do you think tweaking these will have a good effect, and what values would you start at for tuning?
DreadWingKnight
Tweaking those are just going to cause more problems down the road.Just leave them.
