Why can't I use Firefox for this forum?

Recommended Posts

When I use Firefox to view this forum I read it ok until I try to log in. Then Firefox throws a certificate warning:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect

securely to ll.www.utorrent.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,

sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are

going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to

this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is

trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

ll.www.utorrent.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for *.utorrent.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

I Understand the Risks

If you understand what's going on, you

can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification.

Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is

tampering with your connection.

Don't add an exception unless

you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification.

But even when I hit the "Add Exception" button - nothing happens - the screen does not change - I still cannot log in. Very unusual.

Thank you. That solves the problem.

I guess it's been a while since I was here. uTorrent has been pretty straightforward for me. Haven't really needed any help other than the simultaneous TPB question you answered for me moments ago.

The problem was that I linked in from a google search that returned a post with (what I suspect is ) the old address. Then I couldn't log in.

Thank you very much.
