Speed Issues

Recommended Posts

My torrent speeds have recently became much slower than what I am use to and I was wondering if anyone knew why?

I'm currently with BT Broadband (Option 3) with a regular download speed of around 7000kb/s and upload of 370kb/s. Healthy torrents would usually download at anything from 600-830kB/s but for the last few days I have been seeing speeds of 300kB/s at most with maybe a couple of minutes at my usual speeds if I'm lucky and at peak times I will see 50kB/s max but I have always had and expected that. I have tried tweaking the settings by using the guides on these forums with no improvement at all, I have even resorted to trying a couple of Youtube videos which have brought my full speed back but can never keep it. I also downloaded Utorrent 3.0

I would say I am a fairly heavy user but I always keep within the Fair Use Policy, I was starting to think that maybe BT were capping my speeds but they could only be capping my P2P as my regular browsing and download speeds have remained the same.

I have attempted to post the results of a speed test and hopefully it has came out right

any help would be appreciated and if you need any more info then please just let me know

Could you try unchecking the "Apply rate limit to uTP connections" option?

On my setup it's causing problems, see http://www.utorrent.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=589648#p589648

Please confirm or disprove that the option is related to your problems.

I tried it and it's making no difference at all, I really don't know why this is happening now, I have been using torrents for about 4 years now and this is the first time I have had problems with speed
