utorrent process not closing

Whenever I start utorrent directly from a torrent (i.e. go to a site, click "download torrent" then that opens up an instance of utorrent for me if it wasn't already open), exiting out of utorrent will still leave the utorrent process running. When I do the same thing (open utorrent through a website) again, utorrent doesn't respond and says "the utorrent process is already running." Lo and behold, there are two utorrent.exe files in my task manager at this point. I exit out of one and utorrent starts working.

This is mostly annoying when I am shutting down my computer. The process is still running, and even the shutdown signal sent from windows doesn't force the program to close. I have to manually close the program before the machine will shut down.

After upgrading to 3.0 version i'm experiencing the same issue. Windows XP SP3. Usually if you won't stop torrents and try to exit it will take 5-6 seconds for the process and tray icon to exit. That's ok, but sometimes while doing the exit process it stalls my other programs. Never was a problem with 2.0. Now the biggest issue. After a downloading something for a while, when i delete the torrent and exit uTorrent, systray icon disappears. Then after a few hours i do a shutdown of my system and it hangs because of uTorrent process still hanging there. Not a 30-60 seconds. Few hours. Not acceptable at all.

I have the the same issue with latest version v3.0 Build 25454 (clean install) on XP SP3 32x!

When i exit utorrent (right click on taskbar icon/exit) he still appear in processes and also .dat file still remaining in downloaded file folder? I never have this issue with older versions 2.x?

And he not disappeared from processes after 60 sec or what ever. Also XP wont shutdown until manually confirm utorrent to exit!?
