daydr3am3r1987
Hmm I noticed the problem appears everytime I try to force close the process, usually after using utorrent for a period of time. It didn't happened to me in the last 2 weeks, now it happened again. Also, I curious how many of here are using dock app (rocket dock/object dock). DreadWingKnight
Those dock applications are known to cause this.
Bazzilic
I am not using any dock application and the problem is there. Latest beta works fine, as I mentioned earlier.
rafi
Same problem.Windows 7 x64 SP1, 4 Gb RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.27 GHzuTorrent 3.0 (build 25756) [32-bit]uTorrent consumes one core completely (so in task manager it shows 50% cpu usage), dl speed is about 10 KB/s. Sometimes (a very rare case!) it works fine after closing uTorrent, killing that process and starting it again. Still, it starts to consume 50% and dl at 10KB/s again after a while.Changelog:-- 2011-10-27: Version 3.0.1 beta (build 25854)-- 2011-10-20: Version 3.0.1 alpha (build 25829)- Fix: Hang writing partfile for multifile torrent containing a file > 4GBThis was the cause. ... you should all upgrade to 3.01 IF this is your symptom! m_abdelfattah
I've just installed 3.1 beta, and these issues has been resolved. I can download to the max. speed now and CPU usage is much lower.
rafi
3.1 is an alpha! You better upgrade t0 a beta release
m_abdelfattah
The announcement says it's Alpha, but the release is beta !
rafi
So it's a bug... If you ask me - it is alpha quality... don't say you weren't told ... the devs will love to have an extra tester, like yourself... Only 3.0X are beta quality ... Flame1
I guess the 3rd line in my sig is not clear enough for you ... . And I said 3.01 I tried 3.01. It has lower cpu load than others 3.x. but higher than 2.x. Your sig is absolutly clear for me. But 3.x isn't my choice now.
rafi
I see. Is it 5.3% instead of 5% ?... Let see, for 1 downloading (@500KBps) and 1 seeding torrent I get ~ 4%/0.6% average CPU load when active or no activity, on 3.01 Win7/x86. What do you get on 2.2.1 ? Flame1
Maybe your cpu faster than mine. I have P4 2400Mz, Northwood. And i get 50% cpu load at maximum with 3.01 and 25% with 2.X
rafi
Right, I forgot to mention my CPU type: C2D E2180 (~2000Mhz) . "at maximum" ? with 1-2 torrents ? Maybe your connection bandwidth is much higher than my 500K you should really look into other apps that might be effecting that - AV/Firewall and such.btw, I am planning to do more complete comparative tests for performance in a few days...
