download and isntall new versions

I have a MacBook Pro notebook running on Lion although for the purposes of this issue, it is immaterial what the OS is.

For a long time now (when I had Leopard then Snow Leopatrd and now Lion), each time I have received a notice from UTorrent regarding a new version and I click yes, two things happen:

1. The new version starts to download

2. At some point in its progress, the download is stopped and I get told that something is wrong with the "signatures" or some other reason as to why it could either not be downloaded or installed. I have even tried to ignore this and go straight to the website and download and install the latest version is. Same results.

Can anyone help me on this?
