lwiczek
Hi,For a few months now I've been facing a problem with a uTorrent process hanging. I'm not entierly sure wheter it is just not finished closing (but from what I can tell - everytime i remember to check afterwards it's gone) or just by itself - there is a uTorrent process without any try icon nor any window and the only way to go around it is to kill it and start another instance. Also - when trying to open a .torrent file the new instance is launched, but to no avail as the old one sits in the process.Any ideas as to why this might be happening and/or how to debug it and provide you with the nececery information?EDIT:I've catched it after closing uTorrent. the uTorrent.exe is in the state "Wait:DelayedExecution" and the stack for it:ntoskrnl.exe!memset+0x64antoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForMultipleObjects+0xd52ntoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForMutexObject+0x19fntoskrnl.exe!__misaligned_access+0xba4ntoskrnl.exe!__misaligned_access+0x1821ntoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForMultipleObjects+0xf5dntoskrnl.exe!KeDelayExecutionThread+0x186ntoskrnl.exe!NtWaitForSingleObject+0x16entoskrnl.exe!KeSynchronizeExecution+0x3a43wow64cpu.dll!TurboDispatchJumpAddressEnd+0x6c0wow64cpu.dll!TurboDispatchJumpAddressEnd+0x56bwow64.dll!Wow64SystemServiceEx+0x1cewow64.dll!Wow64KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x204wow64win.dll+0x32c4entdll.dll!KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x1fwow64win.dll+0x3fe4awow64win.dll+0x1aefewow64win.dll+0x3281bwow64win.dll+0x1b03awow64.dll!Wow64SystemServiceEx+0xd7wow64cpu.dll!TurboDispatchJumpAddressEnd+0x2dwow64.dll!Wow64SystemServiceEx+0x1cewow64.dll!Wow64KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x204wow64win.dll+0x32c4entdll.dll!KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x1fwow64win.dll+0x3fe4awow64win.dll+0x1aefewow64win.dll+0x3281bwow64win.dll+0x1b03awow64.dll!Wow64SystemServiceEx+0xd7wow64cpu.dll!TurboDispatchJumpAddressEnd+0x2dwow64.dll!Wow64SystemServiceEx+0x1cewow64.dll!Wow64LdrpInitialize+0x429ntdll.dll!RtlUniform+0x6e6ntdll.dll!RtlCreateTagHeap+0xa7ntdll.dll!LdrInitializeThunk+0xentdll.dll!NtDelayExecution+0x15KERNELBASE.dll!Sleep+0xfuTorrent.exe+0xa99c8uTorrent.exe+0xabb9duTorrent.exe+0x82d72uTorrent.exe+0x82c9fUSER32.dll!gapfnScSendMessage+0x332USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0xd7USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0x185USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0x1e1ntdll.dll!KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x2eUSER32.dll!gapfnScSendMessage+0xac4USER32.dll!GetPropW+0x73ntdll.dll!RtlAllocateHeap+0xacuTorrent.exe+0x837e3uTorrent.exe+0x838f8uTorrent.exe+0x82d72uTorrent.exe+0x82c9fUSER32.dll!gapfnScSendMessage+0x332USER32.dll!GetDC+0x52USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0x185USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0x1e1ntdll.dll!KiUserCallbackDispatcher+0x2eUSER32.dll!gapfnScSendMessage+0xac4USER32.dll!GetPropW+0x73uTorrent.exe+0x837e3uTorrent.exe+0x838f8uTorrent.exe+0x82d72uTorrent.exe+0x82c9fUSER32.dll!gapfnScSendMessage+0x332USER32.dll!GetThreadDesktop+0xd7USER32.dll!CharPrevW+0x138USER32.dll!DispatchMessageW+0xfuTorrent.exe+0x82beauTorrent.exe+0xad364uTorrent.exe+0x3d135uTorrent.exe+0xad3d4uTorrent.exe+0xcc248ntdll.dll!RtlInitializeExceptionChain+0x63ntdll.dll!RtlInitializeExceptionChain+0x36

mcaspi
When I don't deal with the Apps, closing is fine. Try it and report back.
lwiczek
I don't use apps, I disabled it/removed as best as I could (even files from %appdata% directory)

mcaspi
(even files from %appdata% directory)This might be a problem. I wouldn't be this aggressive with deleting files. Consider to install uTorrent again from scratch.
lwiczek
No ZoneAlarm. I've disabled UPnP and will see whether the problem persists. Is it a known issue?
DreadWingKnight
Partly known issue cause by bugs in win7.

lwiczek
apps directory was there (it is recreated upon startup)I've reinstalled uTorrent, there is no apps.btapp file nowhere tho..
mcaspi
Because you deleted it. Again, my suggestion is installing from scratch (no re-install).
lwiczek
I've done a clean install... there is still no mentioned file. It was for a moment but changed into "ie" directory...
mcaspi
Hopefully you deleted all the files before installation. Got nothing to add for now. See what DWK or Firon have to say. Also, you can install version 3.1 Alpha that might create a dump when you close it and send it to the developers.
