Mkoll Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Hello all,I'd like to know what is happening here. I am downloading a very large torrent (over 200GB). Whenever I first start utorrent, the file says "checked x%" where x is the progress. This takes a really long time, probably around an hour and the file doesn't start downloading until it ends.Is there a way to speed up or disable this checking? Thanks.
ktetch Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Do you let utorrent close at its own speed? Or it it a case of 'force quite' or power off etc?
Mkoll Posted October 8, 2011 Author Report Posted October 8, 2011 I usually don't bother to even close it when I power down my computer - I just power it down with utorrent still minimized. I'm guessing that's what force quits utorrent and causes this checking?
ktetch Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 correct. you have to let utorrent fully quit (migh take 5 mins, but hey, 5 mins at shutdown, or an hour at startup, your choice - either way it's about data integrity)
