edenknight Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Greetings uTorrent community: I'm very new to the uTorrent client, I'm just trying to figure out how to get around my college campus restriction on torrents?A little bit about the network configuration - The listening port is a "Random Port" I have Enable UPnP Port Mapping, Enable NAT-PMP port mapping, Randomize port each start, and Add Windows Firewall Exception all checkedI have Protocol Encryption Outgoing: Enabled (With Allow Legacy Connections checked)I've tried several different settings with those options, but nothing works. I can download the .torrent files no problem, that's not the issue. The issue is that when I attempt to start a torrent, the speed is always around .2 to .5 KBPS (Would take years to download anything) with only 1 or 2 seeds. As for how the network is built - It's of course NAT based and I'm living on campus so they have their internal IP scheme with a public IP, and I'm assuming that their border firewall is blocking the ports that are required to open when you want to download torrents. The problem is I have no clue how to get around that. Any help is greatly appreciated and I'll answer any questions as fast as I can!Thank you.
edenknight Posted October 10, 2011 Author Report Posted October 10, 2011 Also, I just found the setup guide so sorry if this has been answered a million times or anything. I'm still doing my research. Here's a screenshot of my Ctrl + G test (Bandwidth seems fine, Ports closed?)http://imgur.com/rztrn
