Force re-check failing on added files

I was asked to reseed a torrent that had several large files. I found a couple of the files on my DVD's and placed them in a directory of the appropriate name, then re-downloaded the torrent file. uTorrent did the recheck and found these files. I found a couple more of the files and placed them in the directory. I stopped uTorrent, did a Force Re-Check and uTorrent did not find the newly added files. The additional files are the correct files for the torrent. I stopped the torrent, did a remove, and the re-downloaded the torrent from the web site. When uTorrent processed the new copy of the torrent, all the files were found by the recheck - including the files that a few minutes before had failed to show up during the Force Re-Check.
