salo99 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Downloads are working good but recently upload rate is very slow. Right now I have 7 movies I'm trying to seed back. The overall ratio of peers to seeds is about 200/160, but the upload rate is only around 10-20 kB/s for the last few days, when it should be at 60kB/s. Any idea what could be causing this?
DreadWingKnight Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Are you dealing with a ratio enforcement site (private tracker)?
salo99 Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 No, just wanted to do my fair share of uploading. why?
DreadWingKnight Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Are these torrents all from private sites?
salo99 Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 From Pirate Bay and similar sites, mostly
DreadWingKnight Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Are they very active torrents? What are the rated speeds for your connection?
salo99 Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 Most are pretty active. One of them has 18 seeds and 94 peers but isn't drawing any uploads. Right now, only one torrent is uploading at 4kB/s. Rated speeds are 350 kB/s down and 80 kB/s up (max is set at 60 kB/s). Come to think of it, possibly most of the seeds and peers are located in Europe since these are European films. Could my distance (across the pond) be a factor in the lack of uploading?
tstwitter Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 I don't think location has anything to do with your seeding problem. What are your settings in: Preferences / Bandwidth / Global Upload Rate Limiting ?
salo99 Posted October 21, 2011 Author Report Posted October 21, 2011 Things seem to have returned to normal lately. I'll post back if it becomes a problem again. Thanks for the help.
