secretmofo Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Hi all,I had been running an older version of utorrent for mac without any issues at all but was really waiting for the RSS feature to be implemented. I read that it was included in the latest mac stable release (1.5.11 build 25801) so I uninstalled utorrent, downloaded and installed the latest version and since then I've been unable to download any torrents at all.I checked the port under prefs/network and it says unavailable or no incoming connections, so I then thought maybe I had to try port forwarding and followed the instructions on the portforward website, then tested using a port checker tool to ensure the port is open and that was all OK.Unfortunately still no luck with utorrent now, absolutely no download activity for any torrents no matter where I grab the file.Has anyone else had this issue since upgrading? Is there anything else I can try?Cheers!
ogregergo Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 HiI have exactly the same issueAnd I don't know what to do eitherMaybe we should download the older version again, i don't know if it's possibleHas anyone some suggestions? i would appreciate thatthanks
ogregergo Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 While i was writing my latest post suddenly i got this brilliant idea to download the older version againso after that post i tried that immediately, i downloaded the older version, and that's it. It works!!! Okay, we downloaded the newest version, which sucks, but hey, the older one still works without any problem, So what are we talking about?I am the king or I am the king?!?
DreadWingKnight Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Sounds like software firewall rules issues.
secretmofo Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 I have disabled firewalls to test and no luck there either.currently using transmission until a new version comes out and hopefully that one works I really needed the RSS feed option too
MissZ Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I have the same issue.Since I download the new utorrent, I can't open/add any new torrent. I can't even select the new imported file to open it. It's driving me crazy. And I can't quit utorrent anymore, unless I use Force quit. <Edit by admin don't link old versions>
secretmofo Posted November 14, 2011 Author Report Posted November 14, 2011 To my surprise, I opened up utorrent yesterday and it now works again. Seriously? No idea as nothing has been changed on the system by me (its a media PC and not in use for any other reason..)anyway, happily downloading again, cheers!
nixy Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Hey I'm having this exact problem. I just updated and it's showing no connections. I even created a new open port specifically for it. I put utorrent in the exclusions list of my firewall & AV...still nada.I'd love to know where you guys got an older copy of utorrent from?Cheers Nix
AnnSnark Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Nixy, did you uninstall you client before upgrading? Also try to change the port, it may help if the port is already engaged.
