KaiKat Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 My uTorrent client auto-updated to 3.0.1 alpha when i was running 3.0 stable. Some of the trackers i use don't recognize 3.0.1 as stable therefore they won't let me use this version at all.i have checked the Announcements section to confirm that info and they are correct, it is an alpha version.i have checked my setting in uTorrent and there is no "Update to alpha versions" tick box and the "Update to Beta Versions" box is not ticked. "Update to new versions automatically" is ticked. Why would uTorrent update to an alpha version through its normal auto-update check?and how am i meant to "downgrade" to a stable version of 3.0? i have downloaded the 3.0 stable installer again and when i run it, all it does is re-opens uTorrent (3.0.1) and doesn't do anything. no installer or anything.i currently have active torrents and don't really want to completely uninstall uTorrent 3.0.1 at risk of having to re-download the parts i have already downloaded. Can someone please help me to downgrade to 3.0 without losing any of my settings or downloaded parts.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 What version does help -> about tell you that you have?
mcaspi Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Just paste the 3.0 version over the 3.0.1 .
KaiKat Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 i currently have 3.0.1 (build 25815) and i need 3.0 preferably the latest build (build 25806)@mcaspi - i have already tried that
x0pht Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 besides what's been suggested, you can simply uninstall 3.0.1, and reinstall any version as you wish.after the reinstallation, change the download directory to the one u were using, then just re-download the torrent file and do a re-check.you won't need to re-download everything.
