Constant hard drive use in plus

For 4 days my 2nd hard drive (that is only used for Torrents) is constantly going. It stops immediately after stopping Utorrent. I have tried stopping ALL torrents and it's still thrashing away. This only seemed to happen AFTER installing my plus key and the Antivirus stuff downloaded and installed. Now If I do an AV check on the drive (500Gig) with Nod32 it only takes about 1.5 hours to complete a FULL scan. At first I thought it was just AV'ing the files but after 4 days/nights or 100 Plus hours, this can't be the case surely.

I have gone into preferences and and turned OFF the Antivirus as after 4 SOLID days/Nights it hasn't managed to check around 90-100 Gig of data. And Nod32 did JUST my torrent folder in about 35 Minutes.
