iWonder Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 Hi,I found out that at the last few months there's a huge bandwidth overuse of those clients, and what I mean by that is when the clients upload at lets say 50KB/s the actual network use is more than 80KB/s.My internet connection is 10/0.8Mbps.I have been using the torrent program for a few years now and I've noticed this problem only at the last few months.Usually my client's upload speed was about 100KB/s (which suits the network bandwidth) but now it(the client) simply cannot reach over 70KB/s upload speed since it overuses the bandwidth.Even if I limit the client to 30KB/s upload speed the actual network use is more than 50KB/s.This happens when use the same settings which i've been using all these years:Max global connections - 200Max # of connected peers per torrent - 50# of upload slots per torrent - 5 And I do not use the additional upload slots option. This happens even if I have less than 3 torrents seeding and not downloading. My ISP connection is a special "Gamers" account which doesn't suffer from throttling and I am able to reach the maximum dl/up speeds most of the time.I hope this is enough info for you to check this out. Please note that this was tested on several PC's and different network hardware.

DreadWingKnight Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 bt.ratelimit_tcp_only is set to what in advanced? If you turn off the apply rate limit to uTP, does it reach your line's upload limit?
iWonder Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Posted October 28, 2011 bt.ratelimit_tcp_only = falseI haven't seen any difference when setting 'apply rate limit to uTP' to OFF, but I can check it again. Thanks for the help btw!
iWonder Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 Turning off the apply limit to uTP didn't help, the client still shows upload of 20KB/s while the internet bandwidth is at 40-50KB/s..any ideas ?
