SoulManSt Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Hi,I'm new here, and I have a problem in my utorrent for the last week (I have the program for a very long time) - no incoming connections . It turns green randomly for a couple of minutes and then comes back to orange.I've tried the following:- Download version 3.0- Disable NAT-PMP port mapping- Port forwarding in my router's settings.- Creating a firewall rule for the program and the port itself (also its in the exception list) .I believe I've tried everything!!What else could it be??Thanks.
mcaspi Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 That is a normal behaviour of uTorrent. You have no problem.
emmett Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Yea it is normal for utorrent to do that...You get much more speed too when you download at perticular times...Mornings are good and realy late at night like 4 am...
jolancer Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 umm, i would definatly say that is NOT normal... unless its just with a torrent thats not popular / few sources?how many seeds and peers does it detect? if its a normal file with adequit sources. *and your not new to the program and is a recent issue. I'd start with what might of changed on your system, cause it sounds like u know how to set it up proper. such as malware. and or something to do with your ISP.... try a reallly different port # for testing. And or if you Router has the option for you to manually set you MAC address.. Change just like the last # or Letter and restart both your router and modem. just for testing, you can change it back if you like if doesnt help, but no need if connection still operates proper. If you havnt been using uT a long time on that system and ur not familiar with the basics tho, the FAQ and Sticky posts are a good place 2 start.
SoulManSt Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 well, first of all i don't think it's normal because it simply didn't happen before.and what changed recently is my router, about a month or so. But the problem started a week ago..I also thought maybe the problem is with the torrents (even though it's really weird),so i tried seeding again old torrents - the really popular (clicking 'play' on the list), and it started working!!The weird part that i don't get is that the torrents from before are also uploading now!can anyone explain that? X:thanks for the help...
DreadWingKnight Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 It turns green randomly for a couple of minutes and then comes back to orange. Then you're dealing with swarms that aren't large enough to maintain connections to you (only from you).
emmett Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 wow the geeks are finaly getting along...how sweet
