katerina_d Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Hi,it's been a couple of days now that utorrent is not working; when I go to the Get Started page, I get the following message: "There was an issue trying to load the page. Make sure you're connected to the internet and try again".I am connected to the internet, I do try again, but nothing happens. I can't remember if I clicked something without realising.Any ideas? Many thanks,K
emmett Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 use Utorrent 2.0 and do as i instruct now cause it worked for me...My best advice would be to start your computer and without going on internet explorer google crome or firefox just start your utorrent program and start downloading...But do not open any other internet pages otherwise Utorrent ditects it and shuts down...So when your downloading with Utorrent just have the program open on its own without any distractions such as your browser and so on...Its the only way its gonna download without droping out... Im sure this should work...otherwise you might need to format your windows...good luck..And all utorrent programs download the same so no need for a new version...
katerina_d Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 Hi, Emmett, thought I should just thank you, before shutting down all the programs and trying again. So, many thanks, and I will let you know if it works.Best,K.
katerina_d Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 Well, I don't know what happened, but I uninstalled utorrent 3.0 and installed 2.1.1 and everything works just fine now. Many many thanks and all best,K.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Downgrading isn't troubleshooting, and isn't supported.
jolancer Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 It might be depending how old her OS is. so it definatly wouldnt be troubleshooting 3.0, but it would be for her system. Tho theres added features in 3.0, the torrent function should be simply universal/backward compatible no matter what is piled ontop of it, unless a standard in the transfer system of torrents themself changed. that itself gives you a troubleshot point for the operation of connectivity on her system.... unless she was just mistaken and only the added features failed... and she didnt try manually simplay Loading a New .torrent file? cause that may of still worked?
emmett Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Thats ok katrina...But i did say version 2.0 not 2.1.1...But i .guess as long as it doesnt drop out ...but if it does try 2.0...And thank you for the info there jolancer even though i didnt understand A word you wrote up there...
