since downloading new utorrent, multiple windows open in firefox?

i set my old utorrent to run once windows started. then i found that it suddenly stopped working. even when i clicked on the program icon, it just won't load. a few days before this, i notcied that google was downloading a new update, and wordweb was running in the background. i did not initiate those programs to run.

then utorrent stopped working. the only software i installed that time was a new version of foxit pdf.

so i uninstalled foxit, uninstalled utorrent. and then i downloaded the latest version of uT. now when i use firefox, whenever i open a new tab, the program also opens a new window. the same is true with google chrome. i don't like it because it crowds the
