cannot download

Hi there all, ive been having problems downloading over the last week..( note, im pretty much toally in the dark with computers - i know enough to get around but nothing heavy..)

anyway so heres whats happening.

Ive tried to d/l a few torrents that have lots and LOTS of people seeding but once it gets into utorrent it just sits at 0.0% and wont d/l. I tried for shits and giggles running a torrent i have already on my laptop and it d/l's straight away??

So then i go into the "setup guide" and run a test, the test straight away comes up with a red "X" next to bandwidth section.under that there is a little note that says " look up error: no such host is known. (11001) ) my sclected area is sydney/australia.

in the next scetion for network i got a "yellow" tick and in the results it says "port is not open (you are are still able to download)

So with all of that im a little lost as to where to go???

also i am running ( i presume ) just the stock standard windows firewall with IE8. ( i also tried switching off my firewall and nothing changed.)

Any help would be GREAT cause im lost for what to do!?
