rummy
Currently Im having a FAT32 external hard disk which is used for the primary download for my utorrent jobs. Unfortunately, still certain unfinished torrents exists. Because of this the files may not be continuous and hence whenever I connect to my computer, windows asks for Scan & Fix it. I won't *FIX* it because, the pieces will be rearranged and I can't continue with the same torrent after the FIX.Is there a way to convert this drive to NTFS without losing the torrent job information! Thanks lot! DreadWingKnight
I won't *FIX* it because, the pieces will be rearranged and I can't continue with the same torrent after the FIX.Run the fix then force a re-check, that way, uTorrent knows the new locations of the pieces.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307881/en-us
rummy
thanks for your reply. My concern is:I have unfinished torrents. I guess utorrent will create the entire file when the torrent gets added. After that it writes whatever pieces it receives from other peers. So, there may be gaps in the file content, which is depicted below:where {} = 1piece{P1}{ }{ }{P4}{ }{P6}{P7}{P8}{P9} => current torrent status(lets assume){P1}{P4}{P6}{P7}{P8}{P9}{ }{ }{ } => If we do chkdisk to fix errors, it may rearrange the internal pieces & keep the the free space at the end of the file.Clarification required:After the above shifting happened, if I try to start the utorrent, it will over write the pieces {P4}{P6}{P8} thinking that they are left over.In this case, the torrent data can't work.Plz correct me about my understanding! It should keep things in the proper order that uTorrent places them in.
