swinners Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Hi everyone. Although I tried to nominate the folder where uTorrent should save my downloads, that didn't work and uTorrent saves them to a default folder under it's own hierachy. Only problem is, when I search for that folder in file manager, it doesn't seem to exist. I can launch the downloads from uTorrent, but I want to convert their format with another program, but can't since they're not visible outside of uTorrent. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Security properties on the folder are for a different user account.
swinners Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 I only have one user account on my pc and it has administrator rights.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 On windows vista and 7, that doesn't dispute the cause.
swinners Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 Sorry for being a bit thick, but I don't understand your reply
DreadWingKnight Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Get the security properties of the individual folders when you "Open Containing Folder" in uTorrent.I'm betting your user account isn't in the list.
swinners Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 My user account was in the list, and by going into file manager in this way it's given me access to the downloaded files and I've moved them all to a visible folder and can now manipulate them. Weird! But it's kinda fixed my problem. Thanks for the help!
