µTorrent Remote ignores the "Don't start automatically" setting

Hi there,

I can't find a way to set µTorrent Remote to obey the "Don't start download automatically" setting.

What I'd like to achieve is that when I add a torrent - it will be paused or stopped - I set the priorities (what to skip, what to keep) - then when I start it, then it will allocate the files, and start downloading.

Currently it doesn't matter if I change the setting through the Web UI or directly in the client - it starts to allocate the space for all files, and starts downloading immediately all of them after adding the torrent through the Web UI.

Will you please help me out here?

Hmm interesting. It makes sense you would want to do this because uT allocates space for all the files straight away. Which use case do you use more -- uploading a torrent file or adding by URL? Implementing the second would be very easy while the first would require a little more thought.

Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately I use the uploading a torrent file feature through the web UI almost all the time. It would be really a big help if this feature/setting would be implemented.

Thank you. Would it be too much to ask, to implement it to the URL import part too? Until it gets implemented to the torrent upload part I'll try to find a workaround to import these specific torrent files via URL.

I made the UI to support it and then realized the web API doesn't even support deleting a torrent's data, nor does it support adding a new torrent in a stopped state!

So it's going to take a little while longer than I had expected :-( For now, perhaps you can just stop the torrent quickly after adding it and hope that it hasn't already downloaded a complete piece, if you want to make sure it hasn't written anything to disk

Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it! My main problem with this method is that I use the "Pre-allocate all files" setting, and when I add a big torrent, it stresses down the whole system and easily runs out of free space before I have a chance to stop it and select what to skip and what to keep. And even worse, I noticed that (after it allocated the files) when I select what to skip via the WEB UI, the skipped Pre-Allocated files stays on the disk.

And don't laugh :), I use "Pre-allocate all files" setting to make sure that there will be enough free space for the torrent that was added - and now it seems that this is the setting which sometimes steals the space on the hard disk from others.

I see the problem. The global setting to have all torrents start stopped isn't respected by the web ui. We should be able to fix that. Stay tuned..
