Mispelt Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Ok, so I've been using uTorrent without any hassle perfectly for a few years now. Over the last 3 days however, my torrenting speeds have never gotten about about 3kb/s.I normally download my TV series and movies from TPB without any issue getting download speeds over 1mb/s. I thought it might have been a dud torrent and tried some other ones of the same calibre and got the same result, slow download speeds resulting in ETA's of several years. The seeder:leecher ratio is slightly low, some of them 527:810 for instance, however, I've downloaded torrents heaps of times in the past with seeder:leecher ratios that low and never had any issues.Anyway, thinking that might be the problem, I tried downloading from what.cd instead. Same result from what.cd, a very, very low download speed. So I ruled the seeder:leecher problem out and went in search of what else could be causing this problem.I checked with the link in the stickies in this board to see whether my ISP throttles my torrents, and the results came back as negative. The most baffling thing to me though is that my speedtest with utorrent times out, and my ports aren't forwarded correctly. This is probably the most likely cause, however, I looked through portforward.com many many many many times, I tried other locations trying to find out to port forward for my router the Technicolor TG485 to no avail. No one knows how to port forward this modem/router and I've never had any issues with it in the past anyway.Does anyone have any other suggestions on what my speeds have suddenly dropped through the floor? I've never had to set up port forwarding before as it's never been an issue, but now it appears to be and no one knows how to do it, I don't even know if it's possible.
Mispelt Posted November 14, 2011 Author Report Posted November 14, 2011 Ok, so I just ran another speed test and got a positive report for the port forwarding issue,.I have no idea why it's suddenly open, I didn't change any settings or anything like that, it's just decided to like me all of a sudden.HOWEVER, that being said, my speedtest still times out with error code: 10060. It's testing from Sydney, Australia and I like about an hour away from there. Any idea why it's timing out?
mcaspi Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Preferences/BitTorrent...disable uTP. If it doesn't help enable it.
xidos Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I've got similiar issue and I dont know what's wrong.I've got 20Mb/s and my download speed is max ~150kb/s, when before was much higher and is not all, when it's downloading 10kb/s i can't normally use browser, pages usually don't loading. Before i never configuration anything in options, i'm just install uTorrent and was okay, but now idk what's wrong. I've checked some of fixes at forum, and thats not solve the problem anyway.I've checked some of 'speed test torrents' and its this same.---Lol, few minutes ago, one of my torrents was downloading 500kb/s, i was happy and then in a one second from 500kb/s change to 4kb/sim pissed off
DreadWingKnight Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Speed test torrents being the same means your internet provider is interfering or your network hardware can't take the heat.
