guitarmy21b Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Forgive me for I'm not very tech savvy, but here's basically what happened. You know how it would have the number of seeds in parenthesis and how many you're connected to to the left of it, well yesterday for some reason all the sudden it just turned into zero's across the board no matter what torrent I tried, and the arrows would all turn red eventually. I tried updating to the newest version of utorrent and it doesn't show those numbers anymore since the interface is a little bit different, but I'm still not able to download anything.
Raqe Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Exit uTorrent, FULLY EXIT.Start menu > type '%appdata%' WITHOUT QOUTES, hit enter find uTorrent, delete Settings.dat and settings.old then restart, and restart your modem, then your computer if it still doesn't work.

DreadWingKnight Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 What tracker status do you have on the trackers tab with one of your torrents selected?
guitarmy21b Posted November 14, 2011 Author Report Posted November 14, 2011 What tracker status do you have on the trackers tab with one of your torrents selected?I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but when I double click the torrent, it says this under Trackershttp://tracker.thepiratebay.org/announceudp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80udp://tracker.ccc.de:80udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80udp://tracker.istole.it:80http://tracker.torrentbay.to:6969/announcehttp://tracker.novalayer.org:6969/announcehttp://9.rarbg.com:2710/announceudp://tracker.1337x.org:80/announcehttp://exodus.desync.com:6969/announce
DreadWingKnight Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 No, and the first one is closed anyway.Trackers tab. If you don't have a trackers tab but have the tabs turned on, right-click a tab you have and turn on the trackers tab.
guitarmy21b Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Ahh ok it says[DHT] waiting for announce...[Local Peer Discovery] working[Peer Exchange] workingand for the rest it says offline (timed out), or No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it, or Connection timed out.
DreadWingKnight Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 What internet security software do you have installed?
mcaspi Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Exit uTorrent, FULLY EXIT.Start menu > type '%appdata%' WITHOUT QOUTES, hit enter find uTorrent, delete Settings.dat and settings.old then restart, and restart your modem, then your computer if it still doesn't work.Just like that delete settings? Let's format the disk to fix utorrent (guitarmy21b don't even think about doing format). Raqe, you don't cut the arm before giving the patient a pain killer.
guitarmy21b Posted November 16, 2011 Author Report Posted November 16, 2011 Okay I got it working again. Turned out the problem was the new modem we got. For some reason I couldn't get on the internet when he was on his PS3 and even if he was off I still couldn't download. We exchanged it and now it's better than ever. Thanks for the replies guys, I do have one question though. During my struggle I got the latest utorrent and now the window that would pop up before where I could uncheck certain files in the download that I didn't want isn't there anymore. Is there a way to get that back?
mcaspi Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 If you deleted settings.dat X 2 they should be in the Recycle Bin. Just go there, undelete the files and you should have your previous settings.
