TwentySeven Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Hello everybody! My issue is more specifically with firefox than with Utorrent I assume but I figured I would look here for help. When I download a .torrent file in firefox it asks me what I want to do with it every time. I have chosen the option "Do this automatically to files of this kind from now on" that is in the confirmation window with "Open with: Utorrent" selected. I have also went to Options->Applications and made sure that the .torrent files are associated with Utorrent as default. Utorrent is also the default program for opening .torrent files in my OS explorer. Despite this the confirmation box still pops up and it drives me nuts. Is there anything I'm missing or could try... even if it requires an add-on to firefox or utorrent. Failing that is there another browser that doesn't have this issue? I like firefox but this one is enough of a reason to switch to Chrome or Opera if they don't have this problem. My OS is windows 7 and I'm using is recent(9.0).Thanks for any insight you can provide!
DreadWingKnight Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Sometimes the site overrides that with headers it sends.
TwentySeven Posted November 17, 2011 Author Report Posted November 17, 2011 Thank you for that information. I tested it on a few other sites and you're definitely right as Firefox does not ask me for confirmation when downloading from them. Unfortunately my favorite download site that I use for 99% of my torrenting is the one that causes this annoying issue. I'll keep looking for ways to either force firefox to ignore the headers or browsers that don't have that problem!
