uTorrent won't close - recent problem - plus 50% CPU use?

Hi all,

It's my first post on this forum.

I've noticed that uTorrent has been a bit unreliable on my machine this week.

Windows XP, uTorrent latest build.

One minute everything is downloading at full speed and then suddenly everthing is at 5kb/s or slower.

Well - my main problem and concerns are the following:

1) I close uTorrent (right click - Exit - task bar next to the clock)

Now, this kills uTorrent visually.

However - following this I couldn't delete torrents that I had moved to another folder because the files were "still in use". I knew straight away that this meant uTorrent was still active.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete -> shows that uTorrent is still running. (End Process Tree kills it properly)

My main concern was that uTorrent is using exactly 50% of CPU power - after I have supposedly "Exit"ed the app.

I've used uTorrent for a few years now. It is stable, lightweight, etc. But this is a bit annoying.
