OlGrumpy Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 I am a Mac user that is up to date on my op sys. uTorrent 9 times out of 10 will only quit when Forced. This occurs on both my MacBook and Power Mac.
1080p Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 When you say quit do you mean that it sits in the menu bar for a while with "Quitting..." displayed or something else?I know that there are come complex things µTorrent must do (emptying memory to disk etc...) and they often take time to complete gracefully.
OlGrumpy Posted November 25, 2011 Author Report Posted November 25, 2011 It has displayed 'Quitting' in the Dock for HOURS. One time over night.
AnnSnark Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Do you have large torrents running?
OlGrumpy Posted November 25, 2011 Author Report Posted November 25, 2011 No torrents at all. All have been stopped and removed.
noyfbja Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Well the previous versions would quit almost instantly reguardless of dl/ul activity. So If before the updates you could quit or logout without reaching timeout that means they changed something. That something is very annoying and it needs to be addressed so when the user decides to shutdown/quit/logout/restart, uTorrent responds instantly. The thing about dumping memory to the hard drive and the likes is pure BS!
