annjawn Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I upgraded to 1.5.11 from 1.0.2 on my Mac and my download speeds went down rock-bottom, like to 3-5 kbps. I have a good 10 megs of DSL cable internet connection and used to get a good 500-900 Kbps and sometimes 1-1.5 Mbps too with 1.0.2, but with 1.5.11 it were the worst possible speeds that I got. If it were due to some firewall settings then it should have similar outputs on 1.0.2! I did all the tricks from Transp_disposition value change to port number changes to what not, but none really helped . I had to revert back to 1.0.2 and my speeds bounced back up to normal. Moral of the story - 1.5.11 has some major issues which needs immediate attention and fixes (at least for Mac version) before users are prompted for an upgrade. The optimal settings should be set up while installation rather than the users doing hit and trial with the General and or Advanced Preferences, Bandwidth allocation etc.
mcaspi Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 What values did you try on bt.transport.disposition? How long did you try it for (it can take some time until the speed really changes)?
DreadWingKnight Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Moving to the mac section of the forums where it belongs.

Let's not forget that the problems can be connected with ISP or modem/router, or .torrent...
