Just need an answer to question concerning seeding

I'm never the technical guy but as I understand seeders are the people who send data to you, right?

If that is correct then I have one question. I have one question. How come I only have one seeder when the site that I downloaded the torrent from says there are at least 8 seeders. Just want to know why because My downloading is so slow that it's annoying me.
