Tesla Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I tried 3.0 build 25824 for the past week only to switch back to v1.61 build 474the only plus I got out of it was the gui which is incomplete and..anywayv1.61 build 474 is bug free by comparison and actually runs unattended and problem free for months at a time and has done so since it was released, for me anyway.maybe the 2 biggest problems I had with 3.0 have been addressed1 - unable to get past bad .torrent files without manual intervention2 - unable to move completed downloads incredibly often3 - I still use windows scheduled event and winrar to backup .dat files, as utorrent one still fails a lotproblem #3 exists in v1.61 too and I have used scheduler and winrar from the beginning after the first time it crashed and i lost dozens of torrents...winrar runs every hour since that day.the other 2 problems are new for me and are a real painby the way the actual performance of either v3 or v 1.6 for downloads appears the same for me, which is quite good.I'll check back in another 5 years..P.S.I saw a note in here about making individual dat files for each torrent....Opera did this with their webbrowser then changed it, thank goodness.more importantly, not everyone runs software the same...my utorrent has been on the same system since about 2002, (same OS, but hardware upgrades, yes)my point here is I already have thousands of files.history, etc.. a file for every torrent I ever got.Microsoft has yet to fix the bugs for simple DOS let alone windows.larger amounts of files for info like this is better served with a better backup system rather than creating another possible disaster that windows will gladly assist with destroying.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 v1.61 build 474 is bug free by comparison No it's not. There's a bug list a mile long that have been fixed, including several security holes.
