uTorrent Mac Issues: Checking, moving, freeze

I'm on Snow Leopard and using the latest mac iteration, 1.5.11

Here are some problems I've been having that I don't see in the forum as being reported in the way I've been experiencing them... the stuff I do see posted I am not including here in detail (e.g., utorrent forgets move preference, etc.)

1. If I tell utorrent where the file on my HD is that should be associated with the torrent, the torrent status is set to "moving..." and this never, ever appears to update to "stopped" so that I can recheck the file and restart it to seeding. It just gets stuck at moving...

2. Files that are "stopped" cannot be started because they always revert to "checking..." even if I hit "start" not recheck, then they are stuck in "checking..." status mode indefinitely. They never seem to complete checking, whereas in the past each file would get checked one by one, now not a single file seems to ever begin checking. Theya ll stay at 0%.

3. Files that are "checking..." cannot be put into any other status, or it will cause uTorrent to freeze/hang until force-quit.

If there are any existing troubleshooting/workaround thigns I can do so that I can both download and seed torrents I would appreciate a heads up

If you could provide a sample of uTorrent when freezed, it'd be easier for us to get the grip on the problem (to take a sample just choose uTorrent process in Activity Monitor, click "Sample Process" on top of the window and save). I'll be grateful if you send it to mac@bittorrent.com.
